Beth DeForest, LCSW
Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Montclair State University. She has training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and has completed coursework through the Biblical Counseling program at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation.
Her work experience includes over twenty years counseling public school special education students. Prior to this, she was a caseworker in adoption and child protection services.
Beth also has experience providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Using a strengths-based perspective, she seeks to develop a safe and supportive environment, using evidence-based interventions, such as CBT, mindfulness, and psycho-education.
Beth’s passion is weaving these evidence-based clinical interventions together with God’s truth, as revealed in the Bible. As a Christian Counselor, she strives to provide a setting where your unique life experience can be examined, understood, and transformed through the power and grace of Jesus Christ.
In her free time, Beth enjoys gardening, photography, and spending time with her family.
